Bearing Grease for Umbilical sheave bearing?

Bearing Grease for Umbilical sheave bearing?

(OP)
Hi,

I have a NNF Bearing from SKF that is part of a sheave.  What would be a suitable grease for relubrication?  And, what properties of the grease are important?

The bearing supplier has reccomended Mystik JT-6.  However, they could not provide any reasons why they use this grease.

SKF indicates that the bearings come filled with grease that have a lithium thickener with diester base oil. The base oil viscosity is 15 mm2/s at 40 °C and 3,7 mm2/s at 100 °C.

I am also considering using Marson Liplex 39872 grease, but the viscosity is much higher.

Thanks in advance

RE: Bearing Grease for Umbilical sheave bearing?

Mystik JT-6 >>>may<<< be OK.
The only info I found refered to it as a multipurpose grease with "Hi Temp" properties but no data. Do you need hi-temp qualities?

The SKF website will direct you to recommended greases.

I'm partial to Mobil SHC greases in the NLGI grade suggested by the bearing manufacturer.
