How to animate a flexible subassembly?

How to animate a flexible subassembly?

(OP)
I am having trouble animating an assembly using SW2001+SP2.0 Animator.  The assembly contains multiple instances of a flexible subassembly.  None of them move after I set a path schedule and press play.  Each instance of the flexible subassembly has its own unique configuration, as SolidWorks requires.  However I can't even get one instance to animate with the others suppressed, so the problem evidently has nothing to do with multiple instances.  Does anyone know what the problem is?  Any advice concerning animation of subassemblies or multiple instances thereof would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks, Chris
