PLease advise on calculation to approximate the open area in filter media for the purpose of doing CFD on filters

RE: Totalopen area in filter paper media

technically, I have no idea

depending on what you're trying to find out in the CFD, it might be appropriate to measure pressure drop vs flow and make your model match that behavior.

Mike,
Correct,......
I am seeking to determine the pressure drop vs flow of fuel. With the CFD we have it is difficult to simulate the flow thru the paper media. I was wanting to be able to find out how to approx the open area in order to simulate that into the model of the filter prior to running the CFD
Thanks
Chander
