how to use HP crystal detectors

how to use HP crystal detectors

how to use HP crystal detectors

(OP)
how do i use a HP crystal detector such as the 470
[also called the 8470]
these have an input side which is type N or apc-7,
and their output side is BNC.
But the HP scalar network analyzers and power meters
[like the HP 435 or 436]
all have an input which is 7-pin DIN.
so can't i use these crystal detectors with
the commonest HP power meters or scalar network analyzers?
im confused :\

RE: how to use HP crystal detectors

The BNC end should be connected to an oscilloscope.

RE: how to use HP crystal detectors

I'm really stretching my memory here, but I think HP had a cable you could attach to the BNC and  connect to a scalar network analyzer.  I used those detectors with a ratio meter and couplers or VSWR meter and slotted line.
