opening GE Comtrade

Dear all;

I have some Comtrade files downloaded from G60 type GE relays, that can be open using Enervista (GE) software. But I'd like to open them with Display Station 32, which gives more possibilities of doing some math with channels, harmonics, and the like.  Unfortunately, DS32 seems to crash every time I try to open this files.

Does anyone know what the problem can be? Maybe GE uses some 'customized' form of Comtrade, or perhaps the problem is on the DS32 side?  Any workaround?

Regards

RE: opening GE Comtrade

The Comtrade file format should be universal so I would doubt it is an issue with format out of the GE relays. I have not used the Display Station 32 software to view Comtrade files.

You may want to try the TOP software from Electrotek though. You can download it for free after registering. It works fairly well and also allows you to do some mathematical analysis.

RE: opening GE Comtrade

do you have all the files for event viewing?

I know for sel, there is the *.cev file, but by viewing it in 5030, it also makes the 8.hrd and *.dat file.  I think GE UR relays are the same.

Thanks for your answers. I'm finally using Transview (by Omicron) to analyze the files, but I'll also give TOP a try.

Best regards
