ASTM and EN Testing Code

(OP)
What is the differnece between ASTM Testing code and EN such as EN 10002 and EN 10045?

RE: ASTM and EN Testing Code

You need to obtain these standards and review them to learn the differences.  EN 10002-1 is 54 pages long, while ASTM E 8M is 22 pages long.  We can't summarize them for you in a short reply.  In general, you can obtain the actual mechanical properties of a material using each method.

Cory

RE: ASTM and EN Testing Code

While both of them will give you mechanical properties they are not equivalent or interchangeable.  The test controls and calibrations are different.  the equipment is physically the same and the results are the same, but the methods are different.
