gas water heaters and electric meter clearance

gas water heaters and electric meter clearance

gas water heaters and electric meter clearance

(OP)
I have a contractor that wants to mount a instantaneous gas water heater 15" away from an electric meterbase.  Our  requirement mentions a gas "meter" to be 3' away from the meterbase, but does not mention gas appliances.
I am looking for a standard that mentions a clearance for gas appliances and electric meters.  Help anyone?
Thanks.

RE: gas water heaters and electric meter clearance

15" does not give you much room to replace such meter.consult the electric company or the town engineer.
