Your design briefs, how do they look like?

Your design briefs, how do they look like?

Hi all,

I am curious as to how your design briefs look like. What do you include and what do you not include? Are they manual hand-written calculations or are they done on excel or MathCAD? Do you provide your structural design and analysis model to the client?

The reason I posted this thread is because I would like to improve my abilities on putting a complete design brief together. Perhaps hints and tips on this topic would be appreciated.

RE: Your design briefs, how do they look like?

Problem statement,
sketches input,
Assumptions,
Reports, references, or excerpts of reports to support assumptions (geotech, wind, seismic, etc),
Hand calcs, mathcad or excel
computer input and output,
sketches output

all calculations contain reference to technical material and codes.

qshake has a good outline.  But I would add a section with some conclusions listed as well, probably right before the sketches output.
