Can anyone shed light on the marking found on an explosion protected piece of equipment, EXE d iiC T6 I am aware of what all means except the T6.

It looks like T6 could be the temperature code.  Maximum surface temperature 85 degrees C (Canada, assume USA is the same).

Suggestion: To be certain, contact the manufacturer of your explosion proof equipment. This way you and your equipment will be on a much safer side.
