Help with Solidworks modeling drill flutes

Help with Solidworks modeling drill flutes

(OP)
I am a new user to Solidworks (2005) and am trying to design a drill for medical application.  I am having trouble cutting the flutes.  I think it need to use the Revolve/Cut feature to follow a helix I have installed but cannot get the feature to work.  The model already has a drill body and point angle and I am trying to sketch the drill flute form on a plane perpendicular to the drill body axis.  I think I have to pierce a feature with the helix and then do the Revolve/Cut but I cannot get it to work.  Any detailed instructions would be helpful.
