Less than minimun feeding flowrate for stripping tower

Less than minimun feeding flowrate for stripping tower

(OP)
Dear all,

I am planning to reuse an idle stripping tower, but the feeding flowrate is only around 200kg/hr(Tower design is 4000kg/hr minimun), if I add a reflux pump(connect with the bottom line) to meet this demand, Does it work ? Because I worry the bottom volume of tower is not enough for liquid, please tell me what I need to chck more to make it run well, thank you very much.

You need to check what type of tray or packing is in it and diameter of tower.  Whoever made the tower internals can give wetted area flow requirements for trays or packing.  50% turndown seems high to me so I'd doubt it would work.  Adding reflux only helps the uppper sections.
