Static coefficient of friction Steel on Aluminium (Greasy)
Static coefficient of friction Steel on Aluminium (Greasy)
(OP)
Dear Experts,
Does anyone have a value for the Static coefficient of friction of Steel on Aluminium (Greasy)? Is there a useful source I could refer to?
I have values for the dry condition obtained from marks standard handbook ofr mechanical engineers.
Kind regards
Ed

RE: Static coefficient of friction Steel on Aluminium (Greasy)
Hi.
Wow, that's a loaded question. Friction you know is a system-dependent parameter. A function of load, speed, distance, temperature and surface finish, for sure.
And the fact you're working with boundary lubricants like grease. Will it hold its viscosity over time? What does its manufacturer say?
If you'd like help with dry film lubricants, see:

Good luck!
