i am trying to open an oil and gas consulting firm, but i am currently stumped.

2 questions;

1. how much would it cost to start a company like this, with the sales people being commission only, and

2. where do i find the drilling companies that use firms to find their investors for them?

RE: startup for oil & gas consulting

"Oil & Gas Consulting" is pretty broad, and you'll find many answers to that question.

I started one specializing in surface facilities, no staff, working out of my home office, just needed a truck and office equipment.  Started with $50k of working capital.

I don't have personal experience with the other sorts of Oil & Gas Consulting.

my mistake. it would be for finding investors for the drilling companies. the company finds where to drill, and i would find the investors to fund this project, like a broker so to speak.
