Paint

Paint

(OP)
Hi,
Is it possible to add a paint and it's thickness/weight/sq-metre to selected faces of a structure.
The weight of a 3-coat paint is going to have a significant effect on a structure's centre of gravity.

thanks
Howard

RE: Paint

If the structure is an assy, create a new part (representing the paint) by creating a set of zero offset surfaces and thickening them.

If it's a weldment, insert it into a new assy, and then do as above.

cheers

RE: Paint

Yep, this a perfect application of the virtual components that were added to SW '08.
