SWW '09

RE: SWW '09

I love that they have the Boss' Justification Letters at the top of the Important Links list.  You think that they would at least mask the fact that they want you to feed a line of BS to your boss about productivity enhancements and skills development, but I guess most bosses aren't hanging out on SW websites, so why not?  Way to stick it to the Man SW!

I'm not sure what you're getting at, Dan. I've been to three SWW and learned new things at all of them that directly pertained to my job. The podcast is an interview with my former boss who actually saw the productivity increases.

It was my attempt at being sardonic.  I certainly agree that there is a wealth of information to be had from attending SWW.  I'm just saying what everybody already knows.  Many of the people that attend these types of shows are there in order to justifiably avoid work, which is fine, but let's not pretend that everybody is there solely to learn.  I just think it's funny that the software company already has doctor's notes prepared for the inevitable discussion that attendees will have with their employers.  Especially since it's at the top of the list on their website.  Seems strange is all I'm saying.

...and for the bands.  And the free loot.  And the networking.  And the free loot.  And for the other entertainment.  And the free loot...

Are those things free?  If so, loot, definitely.

RE: SWW '09

Dan, I caught your sarcasm, but that's because I noticed the website is for "Eltron Research", and your handle is "Eltron"...I figured you are "da' man".  I spent great pains coming up with my former company's name:  Borowski Engineering...yes, my last name is...you guessed it!...Borowski smile

Now, I manage a mid-sized engineering department, which I guess makes me the boss.  Perhaps I should take note of the pile of steaming dung in this letter! evil
