Geothermal project

Geothermal project

(OP)
Hello,

I am looking to get involved heavily in the realm of geothermal energy, but have doubts that my idea will work. My business plan aside, I would like to know your thought's on the matter, and equipment you would use.

Thanks

Where and for what end use?

RE: Geothermal project

Now there's a vague question! Sounds as though not enough homework was done so far.

My thoughts: Geothermal is one source of energy available in some locations. It is different than other energy sources. It has its own problems, some specific to geothermal, some that it shares with others.

Equipment I wuould use would probably consist of pipes, vessels, pumps, control systems, foundations, structures. Whoops, got ahead of myself... don't forget to drill the well first...

Just be sure to paint it all purple. Otherwise it won't work.

Dear mbryce,

Excellent in all their technical details as jte's advice may be, you should not heed his advice regarding the purple colour.

There are several reasons for this. One of the more important considerations is that the colour purple is reserved for high rank officials in the catholic church and therefore not allowed for geothermal purposes. I think that jte is aware of this fact and confused purple and violet - a common enough mistake.

There is a technical reason why purple will not work. It is not a spectral colour and as such not possible to optimize heat-transferwise. Violet, on the other hand, is a spectral colour and will transfer maximum energy at its corresponding wavelength.

Also. The cost of real, genuine purple dye makes it a bad coice. The mollusk from which the dye is extracted is an almost extinct species and will probably soon be on the UN red list. That makes the cost of genuine purple dye extremely high. And you wouldn't use fake dye - would you?

mbryce,

I know that you believe that we understand what you think you said, but I am not sure you realize that what we read is not what you meant.

Good luck,

But wouldn't all that hot air be good for those who live in cold environments?

Good Luck

RE: Geothermal project

mbryce....

jte is "spot-on",.... theological considerations aside, purple is the perfect color for geothermal equipment and plants.

I have just one brief question:

If I were to access a website specializing in,...oh say....international accounting.

And, lets say, I posted the following:

"Hello,

I am looking to get involved heavily in the realm of intenational accounting, but have doubts that my idea will work. My business plan aside, I would like to know your thought's on the matter, and spreadsheets that you would use.

Thanks "

What kind of response from the accounting community should I expect ??
