Discharge pressure on submersible pump.

Discharge pressure on submersible pump.

(OP)
I am troubleshooting pump performance on a 58hp submersible Flygt pump. I want to install a pressure gage on the discharge pipe. The discharge pipe is Goodall hose connected to a check valve (4") then to hard pipe.
Question: where is the best place to install a pressure gage?
should I drill and tap into the check valve itself?

RE: Discharge pressure on submersible pump.

Pressure gauge before the check valve (immediately after pump discharge, wherever possible) gives you the pressure drop across the check valve as well.

PS: We have a Pump Engineering forum for pump related issues.
