convert to m, not mm? (also, chg units in Sim to N, m not mN, mm)?

convert to m, not mm? (also, chg units in Sim to N, m not mN, mm)?

(OP)
NX5.0.5
Advanced Simulation

Is it possible to convert a part to units of [m], not [mm]?  Also, is it possible to convert a part's "consistent units in simulation" from mN, mm (and mN/mm^2 etc) to N, m, N/m^2, etc?

This would be useful in interfacing with other simulation environments (such as Patran/Natran) where going convention is often N, mm, Pa, etc.

I've looked at ug_convert_part.exe but it only handles conversions between mm <-> in.

Help?

...answering my own question:

to output simulation files (including mesh, along with material props, boundary conditions, etc), use

File > Export > Simulation

and then choose the appropriate units.  The resulting file will have the correct units (ie: N & m, rather than NX's "consistent units" of mN & mm etc).

Set the file extension to whatever is desired (ie: *.bdf if one wants to output an input file for Nastran)
