Hi Everybody,

According to Code Case 2235-9, (C) state that "The qualification block(s)shall be prepared by welding or HIP......,oriented to simulate flaws parallel to the production weld's fusion line... "

Question 1).The qualification block(s) shall be contain with a welded joint?

Question 2). If the qualification block(s) contain a welded, done welded joint configuration shall be same with production vessel...?

Thanks for you reply. Do you have a guide (with detail)how to make flaws in welded?

The flaws can be introduced by using EDM notches and flat bottom holes.
