Need Help Installing XP x64 over Vista biz x64

(OP)
I just got my new machine here and 1st thing on the list to to ERASE Vista and install the XP x64.  When booting from the XP cd it will not allow me to "downgrade".  As far as I'm concerned it's an upgrade in every way but problem still exists.  How can I get this done (easily I hope).

Thanks for any help.

The most surefire way is to format and then install XP.  Be sure to back up all your critical data to a CD or other hard drive (thumb drives rock for this).

Or you could create another partition and install XP on the new partition.  If you do that then you could keep Vista (if you want to) and dual boot the system.
