What is required on shop drawings for code piping?

What is required on shop drawings for code piping?

What is required on shop drawings for code piping?

(OP)
This is my first post.

When replacing a short section of coded (B31.1) pipe which is to be shop fabricated, how much weld detail should be put on the shop drawings?  Is it sufficient to state to which standard it is to be fabricated by or does each weld need to be detailed out as in an ASME Pressure Vessel drawing? Also should any calculations be performed if the section is being replaced with no changes.

Thanks!

cap..

Purchase a good book on piping drafting from AMAZON.COM.

Take a trip to your local long-established piping fabricator, look for the old guy in the corner (the one without the mullet and tattoos) and ask to see some typical working drawings.

If your replacement spool is an exact "replacement in kind", no calculations are required.....IMHO

Thanks for the reply MJC! I see several good piping ref books that I can't wait to get my hands on.
