Milton Roy vs. LEWA metering pumps
Milton Roy vs. LEWA metering pumps
(OP)
I am about to select a metering pump and would appreciate your feedback on pros and cons of Milton Roy and LEWA pumps. Application/equipment detail:
Flow rate 0.15 to 1.5 gph
System pressure about 150 psig max
Flooded suction, about 1 ft NPSHa (gage) min.
Continuous operation
Both pumps are double diaphragm, sandwich type.
Milton Roy diaphragms are PEEK,
LEWA diaphragms are stainless steel (cost more, too.)
Any reason NOT to buy Milton Roy?
Your prompt replies will be appreciated.

However, having said that, if Milton Roy meets your specification and they have selected a pump based on your accurate description of service conditions, then there is no reason not to select them.
It sounds like you are simply seeking support for your decision, but one word of advice is that you should only invite bidders to quote that you would be comfortable to place an order. This alleviates any worry later when your bid evaluations yield a surprise result.

Bill
RE: Milton Roy vs. LEWA metering pumps
BillBirch you are right that I am simply seeking support. I am new to the metering pump world and had never heard of either company before starting my current project. Perhaps I should have stated that up front. I will ensure that my future posts do not appear to seek endorsement or preference.

Tom
