Milton Roy vs. LEWA metering pumps

Milton Roy vs. LEWA metering pumps

I am about to select a metering pump and would appreciate your feedback on pros and cons of Milton Roy and LEWA pumps.  Application/equipment detail:
Flow rate 0.15 to 1.5 gph
System pressure about 150 psig max
Flooded suction, about 1 ft NPSHa (gage) min.
Continuous operation

Both pumps are double diaphragm, sandwich type.
Milton Roy diaphragms are PEEK,
LEWA diaphragms are stainless steel (cost more, too.)

Any reason NOT to buy Milton Roy?

Your prompt replies will be appreciated.

RE: Milton Roy vs. LEWA metering pumps

Yes, because you think the LEWA is a better unit after you have undertaking a full hydraulic and mechanical review of both units.

RE: Milton Roy vs. LEWA metering pumps

You should not be asking for endorsement of one product versus another.  Both are well established manufacturers and either would equally be within their rights to litigate against websites arbitrarily criticising their products.  Even by expressing a preference of one against another is similar to endorsing or even advertising a product, which is forbidden on this site.

However, having said that, if Milton Roy meets your specification and they have selected a pump based on your accurate description of service conditions, then there is no reason not to select them.

It sounds like you are simply seeking support for your decision, but one word of advice is that you should only invite bidders to quote that you would be comfortable to place an order.  This alleviates any worry later when your bid evaluations yield a surprise result.
Regards,
Bill

Thank you for your advice Artisi and BillBirch.

BillBirch you are right that I am simply seeking support.  I am new to the metering pump world and had never heard of either company before starting my current project.  Perhaps I should have stated that up front.  I will ensure that my future posts do not appear to seek endorsement or preference.

Regards,
Tom
