Problems with DWG Files in NX4

Problems with DWG Files in NX4

Problems with DWG Files in NX4

(OP)
Every time I save a drawing as a DWG file, the model window turns black and I can't see anything.  UG doesn't crash, but every part window is black.  I have to completely close and restart to be able to see my parts again. I'd appreciate any suggestions.  Thanks.

RE: Problems with DWG Files in NX4

Does your dwg file turn out ok?  Are you doing a File ->Export->Dxf/Dwg or are you using 2D Exchange?   I have not heard of your problem before but I have had strange things like this happen when not using the correct graphics driver.

RE: Problems with DWG Files in NX4

Sometimes I have better luck with using the external translators that NX provides.
You can get there from your Windows>Start>programs>UGSNX>Translators ... .
A minor benefit to using that is you can translate (in or out) many parts at a time from there while doing something else in your CAD window.

Thanks for the input.   I tried exporting into DWG files.  I got the window saying it was submitted for export or something like that, but the files never showed up where they were supposed to.  Instead I used Save As to make DWG files.  The DWG file turns out ok, but it's a real pain to have to restart UG every time I need to make a DWG.

Jerry1423, I'll have to try that external translator
