harmonic response in WB: asymmetric modes

harmonic response in WB: asymmetric modes

(OP)
Hi and thanks for looking,

I'm having trouble exciting correctly the asymmetric modes of a simple beam (like 2nd bending, 4th bending etc.). It seems like ANSYS  WB needs 2 forces out of phase of 180 degrees or of opposite magnitude to correctly excite them. But then, in that situation, the symmetric modes don't get excited! I need to get this straightened out, do I absolutely need 2 input to excite the asymmetric modes? Am I missing something here? I've included the test model!

Thanks
