BOM question/problem

BOM question/problem

BOM question/problem

(OP)
This is kind of a newbie question i'm trying to get my part description to show up in my BOM's on my drawings but for some reason I can't get them to show up. I'm running SW 2008 SP 3.1.
It's got to be something simple that I'm missing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

RE: BOM question/problem

It depends on where the BOM is looking for the description. It sounds like it's probably looking for it in the custom properties (file->properties) in the part file, which hasn't been filled out.
Your best bet is to look up BOM in the help files.

Jeff,

So what your saying is that the description needs to be set-up in the part file or in the part drawing file? Is there more than one way to achieve this?

RE: BOM question/problem

In the part file.  There is no direct link between assembly drawing and part drawing.
