3 phase motor running single phase zigzag ?

3 phase motor running single phase zigzag ?

(OP)
is this possible ? if it is can I use this as a generator in a grid tie wind turbine system ?

RE: 3 phase motor running single phase zigzag ?

Go delta. Use two of the three corners. If the motor is spinning at speed, energizing one winding should excite the other two windings.
With zig-zag, you would have to energize one winding at half voltage. Zig-zag is do-able but it may be easier to use delta and full voltage. Let us know how it works.
