Unequal Angle weldment wrong way round

Unequal Angle weldment wrong way round

Unequal Angle weldment wrong way round

(OP)
Hi,
Can't figure this one myself.

I am using unequal angles in a weldment.
The problem is, some angles won't rotate to the correct orientation

How does one do this.?

thanks
Howard

RE: Unequal Angle weldment wrong way round

Can you be a bit more specific?
How are you creating the weldments? How are you trying to rotate the pieces?

OK,
I am inserting an unequal angle into a weldment.
Using a standard library weldment within Solidworks.

The angle is always orientated in a default direction.
I want it inserting opposite handed to this direction.

This isn't solved by rotation, or moving the location point.
The part profile is handed.

thanks
Howard

delete the line the profile is being extruded along and redraw it in the opposite direction.

cheers

RE: Unequal Angle weldment wrong way round

In 2008 they introduced the option to mirror the profile. In previous versions I just used a LH and an RH version of the weldment profile. Be sure to keep the descriptions the same to enable grouping.

RE: Unequal Angle weldment wrong way round

What the Limey is suggesting should work.  Just delete your sketched line, and, instead of drawing it from A to B, draw it from B to A.  Then try inserting your weldment.
