Cente Lines...
Cente Lines...
(OP)
Hello All,
This seems like an easy fix... BUT.. I am trying to change the default center lines in our draft sheet templates. We want ours to be sky blue and have a line wight of .35 mm.
The default is Dark Cyan and .300 mm, I tried just going to format and choosing center line and changing it there. Still every new draft you have to change the color and line weight.
It's not a huge deal, but as you all know.. any time saved helps..
Thanks
Flu

RE: Cente Lines...
in the draft environment, create a new dimension style (format -> style -> choose Style Type: "Dimension" -> click new -> enter the information you want [ex: color (this will be driven dimension), name, centerline style and width(under Lines and Coordinates tab), etc.]). MAKE SURE THE "Based On:" FIELD IS SET TO "None".
Now, still in the style menu under Dimension, click Organiser. On the right hand side, select the style you just created and transfer (copy) it over to the material.mtl file (click the "<< Copy" button). This will permanently save your style to your SE installation folder (material.mtl is found in Solid Edge V20\Program).
Everytime you create new centerlines now, you should be able to switch over the style to your new style, because it's going to be defined in every new drawing. If you want to push it a step further, you can go in tools -> options, and under the "Dimension Style" Tab, set the Center Line style to your new style. Click OK.
Hope this helps (and that it's accurate)! Any questions or if it doesn't work, let me know!
Cheers,
Martin

Thank you very much.. Easy and painless, worked like a charm.
thanks again,

RE: Cente Lines...
You can then change the line properties as you have been doing through the format - style method then save the template this should be carried through to all following drafts.
RE: Cente Lines...
That's what I tried and I couldn't get it to work. I have now done what Martin suggested though and it did work.
Thanks
