Equipment Operating Weight!(Seismic)

Hi!
Can anybody tell me if we have to consider the operating weight of the equipment as Live Load + Dead Load? another word, should we multiply Cs by the operating weight to obtain the Seismic Load or just multiply by the empty load? could you refer me to CBC 2007 or AISC 7-05.
Thanks a lot

RE: Equipment Operating Weight!(Seismic)

Reference ASCE 7-05 Section 12.7.2 Effective Seismic Weight Item 3. That should answer your question.

Also check IBC2006
