Naming files on creation / Virtual Components

Naming files on creation / Virtual Components

Naming files on creation / Virtual Components

(OP)
Hello,

Is their a way to name files on creation?
This seems to be a new feature of 2008.

Previous to this,(2007 and lower) one could assign a part name and type a description before the part was inserted into the assembly.

I have adjusted to the new way of doing this, but was wondering if there is a toggle to turn this on or off.

Thanks.

RE: Naming files on creation / Virtual Components

I'm interested also.  Since i got 08 I always make parts and they have a name related to the assembly with ^ in the name.  Really annoying having to go back and save each part as by itself.

The only benefit so far I see is that I design in different areas of the machine at different times and then can add part numbers starting from one side of the tool to the other.
This helps to keeps balloons in a numerical order.
