CNG refueling appliance?

CNG refueling appliance?

CNG refueling appliance?

(OP)
Hello Gentlemen

Is this where I come to get an idea of what it would cost to develop a small, inexpensive, cng refueling device for home use?

Thanks in advance.

RE: CNG refueling appliance?

There are a number of hurtles to be addressed.  First the gas line to most homes is too small.  The second is many local regulations will forbid 3000/3500 psig natural gas being stored in a residential area.  Many commercial applications fell through because the cng was not convienent to the business.

RE: CNG refueling appliance?

trying to read between the lines... it sounds as though the OP has a CNG-powered car, or knows someone who does, and would like to make home refueling an option.  In the case where a car already has CNG storage onboard, residential storage of that quantity is either legal or the legality is being overlooked.  The size of the delivery line affects how long refueling takes, right?  If you're willing to leave the car hooked up for an hour or three, would the typical home gas line be big enough?

If it could be made to work, it would be great to have as an option with gasoline prices as high as they are.  CNG conversions are quite a bit simpler than electrifying your car.

RE: CNG refueling appliance?

sorry, I misread "An increase in fuel demand can be met by adding compression and/or storage to the station." to mean that the station didn't come with compression.  Upon further reading, it seems that it does.

Would be a bit pricey for your typical homeowner.

Please feel free to send me your questions.
