trying to figure the quality of an ultra high purity aluminum

trying to figure the quality of an ultra high purity aluminum

trying to figure the quality of an ultra high purity aluminum

(OP)
Hello to you,
I would appreciate your help on that:
There is an Ultra high purity aluminum stock calimed to worth USD 200,000 / kg.

I need to verify this value...

I am told that the lower the 'alpha-particle emission rate' is - the (very much) more expensive the material is;

my question is, Any other key parameters should I check with the guys possess this material for the above purpose?
I'm attaching a (poor quality) prints.. not sure if they'll conribute ..

Thanks very much!

Okay. Sorry, I wasn't sure what was the right forum for my question.

Thanks for the links IRstuff !
if I take for example:
Aluminum Target, 99.999% Al (19mm x 1.5mm) each  225.00
 that's 28.5 cubic mm (that's close to 1 gr ? * * )
so this material is approx. USD 200,000 / kg

* * what would be the specific gravity of such aluminum ?

The question is: do cut N polished 1/3 gr material cost like 1/3 gram from the Raw material ?  probably not..
Thanks

Aluminum 2.7

Ultra-pure Al in "raw" form is an oxymoron.  Any further processing of the material is likely to add contaminants.  You can buy larger targets, which are substantially cheaper per gram.

Did you even look at the second link I gave you, which has a 4-in target that's $2700/kg?

1. Thank you (I knew it is 2.7 but then I saw metals like Al oxide that as far as I remember had a dif. number.. so I asked to be sure)

2. Yes I did look at the 3 of them and at each I tried to go and find anything 'closer' to the 'raw'

Appreciate your help.

IRstuff,
in this poor quality jpg that I uploaded, anything can give an indication about the metal's quality and cost? (it's in approx. 1000 gr ingots)

Thank you!

That puts me in a good company smile
Thanks for the help!
