Question regarding units in Abaqus

Question regarding units in Abaqus

Question regarding units in Abaqus

(OP)
Hello All,
I have a question regarding units:

I have the length in ( micrometer )

Young's modulus and yield stress in ( MPa )

I am using DLOAD subroutine to apply Pressure

The Pressure is a function of distance ( which in micrometer )  and Adhesion Energy

The Adhesion Energy is    energy/unit area

If I want to use Adhesion Energy = 1 J/m^2

  What value I should enter with the above unit system to be consistent

THANKS to every one

RE: Question regarding units in Abaqus

According to my units 'ready reckoner';

If the base units are;

Length - micrometres µm
Force - micronewtons µN
Time - seconds (s)

then;

Energy is in pJ (1e-12 J)

Should be able to work out the adhesion energy from that smile

RE: Question regarding units in Abaqus

Has anybody found or written a program to figure this out?  People seem to always have goofy units.

RE: Question regarding units in Abaqus

Afterwards what bassmanjax said i think J should be changed into mJ if you are using MPa.
