P1 materials are essentially carbon/manganese alloy steels and can be microalloyed with vanadium and niobium for strength and copper for corrosion resistance. P4 group alloy steels are carbon/manganese steels alloyed with approximately .75% to 1.5% Chromium and 1/2% Molybdenum.
