Wrap Text Problem

Wrap Text Problem

Wrap Text Problem

(OP)
Hey,
When opening my drawings the text unfolds in one line, but fixes itself when loaded from memeory. This also happens when it filed in PDM, but stays this way in the vault.

See Attachment.

Thanks,

Jeff,
It's happening to all drawings and sizes because they're built off of standard templates. This started when we moved over to SW2008 SP 3.1.

Thanks for responding.

RE: Wrap Text Problem

So, if I'm understanding you correctly, once the drawing is fully opened the text is fine, it's only messed up during the preview?
I've seen other visual anomolies when opening/viewing drawings, parts or assemblies. If this were happening in a part or assembly, I'd say it has something to do with RealView...
Where you say it didn't happen until you went to 3.1, how about loading up 4.0? If that doesn't help, roll back to whatever SP you were on before 3.1.

We were using SW2007 SP 5.1 then push over to SW2008 SP 3.1. I'll take to see if this was fixed in SP 4.0.

And yes, this only happens in the preview when loading. Once fully opened, it's fine. I think when filing in PDM it's capturing the image in it's preview state.

RE: Wrap Text Problem

we have the same issue with our drawings that have 2 lines in the title block. Havent been able to get a good reason for it from anyone. How are you controlling the text wrap? The template we have here uses the forced delineator that splits the text

RE: Wrap Text Problem

(OP)
No forced delineator, just the text frame controls the wrapping. Also using $PRPSHEET:"Description" as the CP, but don't think that's the problem.

RE: Wrap Text Problem

hmmm.... How do you get it to split into 2 lines of text? When you enter the description do just type everything on one line? we use the forced delineator here, and where we want the description to break to the second line, we use the symbol. But get the exact same results when viewing from vault

RE: Wrap Text Problem

(OP)
Yeah, we type everthing on one line in the SW part or assembly. Then the size of the text box wraps the actual text onto the second line.

RE: Wrap Text Problem

cant seem to get mine to do that? Is there a trick or a setting?

RE: Wrap Text Problem

(OP)
i don't think so, but try this.

create text in a long line. then go too edit and add a hard return in the middle of it. the text box will get wider with now 2 lines. now resize the box. you can then take that box an add your CP to it. I think this is how I did it. the text will always wrap then.

Mitsu50,
Try opening this template and go to "edit sheet" and copy my text box off of my template onto yours

RE: Wrap Text Problem

well thats weird your text box works as its supposed to in my border....

if i try to do it by editting my existing text box it wont allow me to size the box. Cant say if it will behave as your when checked into the vault. i can try it when i'm back  in the office tuesday.
