Why can't I use Insert>symbol>surface finish symbol in an imperial drawing?

apparantly, they are only supported in metric drawings?

Is this correct?

what am I going to do now that I have a completly detailed drawing that I cannot put finish marks on?

any help or guidance is appreciated
