What the heck is a Bad Function Name?  When I try to save my part I get an error saying that because of this it won't save.  When the part was first created I didn't have any problems.  I've gone back now and made some modifications and now can't save.

This is NX 5.0.0.25.  I searched the forum and found only one other thread concerning this.  The suggestion was to run Part Cleanup.  I did so, with most of the options checked, and still can't save.  There was no resolution in the thread.

RE: bad function name

Well for one thing, I would upgrade from NX 5.0.0.25 as soon as possible to at least NX 5.0.4.x.

If it was my decision we'd be there in a heartbeat.  : )

RE: bad function name

That sounds like a kbe/knowledge fusion error.
Do you have a check mate routine running on save?

No we do not.  Don't have Teamcenter running either, BTW.

RE: bad function name

we get this error occasionally and the fix for it is one of the strangest fixes I've seen in CAD.

OK, first in your model switch to drafting.  If there is a sheet created, delete it....if there is no sheet, create one and delete it.

Now save.

That is the official fix from GTAC too....I got the solution doing a search of their files a while back.

would love to know who figured that one out and how :P

Well, it sort of worked depending on how you look at it. This drawing has two sheets on it. I first deleted Sht 2 and tried to save. No dice. Then deleted Sht 1 and tried to save. Nope. I then created a new sheet and tried to save. Bingo!

For curiosity's sake, I restored the file and deleted Sht 1 first. Tried to save and it worked. So apparently whatever the issue was was on the first sheet. Odd that it didn't work the first time when I deleted all the sheets.

I don't trust the file though. I figured it was corrupted somehow so I had already recreated the part yesterday afternoon (part and drawings are in the same file here), so I'm just going to make a new drawing and be done with it.

Thanks for the info!

Mike
