PDM access not working

(OP)
OK, I just set up a 64bit windows xp machine and cannot get PDM to connect correctly at all. I already modified my hosts file, installed PDM like I do on every other machine. Since it's 64bit, I know it needed to go into the Programs x86 folder. I get all the way thru like normal however when I go to check the setup, instead of the PDM icon I get an empty file folder.

I have gone around and around with my VAR for over a week with no solution. I already went thru the registry repeatedly to delete the local view etc so I could try to set it up yet again. Still nothing. Empty folder.

I cannot believe this is such a difficult uncommon situation that there is no simple solution! I am at my wit's end and today, calls and emails have gone unanswered at the VAR however my boss wants this resolved and I'm not IT savvy enough to know WHAT the solution is.

I'm running solidworks 2007, I have XP Pro 64SP2, and PDM Works Enterprise 2007.
