Changing XYZ axes

Changing XYZ axes

Changing XYZ axes

(OP)
Hi
I started making my model and as soon as i finished i realized that my one of the axis is wrong. Currently Y is the vertical axis where as it was supposed to be Z axis. Is there any possibility in ABAQUS 6.7 that i can change them i.e making 'Y' axis 'X' and 'Z' axis 'X'??

I would be grateful if i get any answers to this.

Regards

RE: Changing XYZ axes

*TRANSFORM may work I belive

RE: Changing XYZ axes

opp.... forget about the *tranform.

Think it is the *system that u need to use.

"This option is used to define nodes by accepting coordinates relative to a specified local rectangular coordinate system and generating the nodal coordinates in the global coordinate system."

Thanks Yoman for your help. Yes it is the transform option in the assembly module you need to use. I am writing step by step procedure how I did. This might help the guys who may struggle with it in the future
you need to go in the Assembly module and use 'rotate instance' to rotate your assembly or part in any direction. it may show you a warning if you have position constraints ON in the assembly that they may get erroneous if you rotate the instance. Give it a go and the position constraints will move together with the assembly.

Hope this explaination would benefit the people.

Regards
