ControlLogix 5K and PanelView 600 Serial Comms Issue

ControlLogix 5K and PanelView 600 Serial Comms Issue

ControlLogix 5K and PanelView 600 Serial Comms Issue

(OP)
Has anyone connected a ControlLogix PLC V16 to a PanelView 600 with DF1 serial??

-I have the mapping all set up in RSLogix5K.
-I have the RSView ME Enterprise comms set up as a ControlLogix process through DF1.

Apparently, you cannot use the COntrolLogix processor in RSView ME even though it's an option - you supposedly have to "fake" it by telling RSView the CNTRLX PLC is a PLC5??

Anyone had any luck getting these to play nice?

Thanks, Steve

RE: ControlLogix 5K and PanelView 600 Serial Comms Issue

Don't forget to config the PV+ serial port from the unit itself.
I have only used ethernet with the PV+, serial with PV300 and PV+400 with micrologix.
Let us know if they "Play Nice"

RE: ControlLogix 5K and PanelView 600 Serial Comms Issue

I run into this often enough that I brought an AB guy in from the factory and the only thing he did different than what we are probably doing is he manually configured the communications in  RSViewME. He also annoyed me buy telling me to do the updates, but thats what factory guys are for.
Manually configure all settings as they relate to what you have for AB PLC through Logix5

RE: ControlLogix 5K and PanelView 600 Serial Comms Issue

I did like 20 like this setup contrologix L61 to panelview + 600.

1  straight cable (no null modem on the cable, thats pin 2 and 2 to pin 3 and 3)

do you see it on rslinx?  If not default the panelview until you see it under the processor on the channel 0.

until you have done the above there is no need to go any further.

Now make sure you have the link properly visually highlighted.  This is more involved than you think.

download and see if it works
