Which Stress to use-STAAD

(OP)
I have just modelled a steel plate SILO with plate elements. I have applied just one plate load internally. Now I need to see what is the stress in Silo plate members. The plate contour have a number of stresses, Von MIse, Tresca, SX, SQX.. which one I should use

RE: Which Stress to use-STAAD

I use Von Mises, or you can take the maximum of Von Mises or Tresca.

RE: Which Stress to use-STAAD

RE: Which Stress to use-STAAD

Von Mises is the most commonly accepted failure criteria for DUCTILE metals, not just any metal.
