Substation Grounding using WinIGS

Substation Grounding using WinIGS

Substation Grounding using WinIGS

For those users of the WinIGS Integrated Grounding System program, where do you input the resistive properties of "X" depth of substation rock when evaluating the touch and step potentials at a substation?

RE: Substation Grounding using WinIGS

I am not sure, how much you are familiar with WinIGS but I dont recall it entering rock resistance information. You enter the resistivity of the rock in the soil model. The software will calculate all the parameters based on that.

Thanks sobeys81.  You are correct that you enter information in the soil model under the "Reductor Factor".  The resistivity is defaulted to 2000 ohm-meters by WinIGS.  By the way, anyone out there ever use ASPEN One-Liner with WinIGS?
