Circuit Switcher

(OP)
Can some one help me what are are the pros and cons of using Circuit Switcher  instead Circuit breaker in the MV Substation, 44/13.8 kV.
Can I use Circuit switcher at high side of the power transformer (44/13.8 kV, delta/why)instead of circuit breaker.
Please let me know you want more information.

RE: Circuit Switcher

A circuit switcher will be less expensive than a circuit breaker.  It is commonly used for transformer primary protection.

The main negative with circuit switchers is lower interrupting rating.  It also does not allow for bushing CTs.

The circuit switcher can be furnished complete with a motor operated disconnect switch.
