Hi,

Sorry to ask the question again, but I am surprised not to find the function that applies a Force on a Surface. I am also working with I-DEAS, and this feature is possible.
Is there a way to do it with Abaqus?

I was wondering if it is possible to apply a distributed force (I said force in Newtons and not pressure) on a given surface.

Is it possible to do that in CAE?
Personnaly I have not founf the way to do it.
Does someone know?

You can distributed couple the surface to a reference node. then apply the force onto the reference node.

How can you couple the surface to a reference node?
Do you need to tie them? What kind of interactions do you have to specify?

Look at *COUPLING and *DISTRIBUTING in the keywords manual.

Or read the CAE manual, seach for coupling.
