What ia the generally acceptable clearance for TEMA B - AES Type Heat Exchanger between the Floating Heat Backing Device and the Floating Head Cover Flange?

Sir:
The only place in TEMA that I may provide a partial answer to your question is on Fig. F-3. You can see that the tolerance of the outside diameter floating head cover’s flange is +1/4” –1/8”. There is no tolerance for the inside diameter of the shell’s rear cover. Thus I can’t see the TEMA’s suggestion for that clearance. On RCB-5.22 and Fig. RCB-5.22 you may find the information for packing boxes, but I don’t think that what you are looking for. I would suggest you to submit this question in the TEMA web page:
