Need help placing a group of holes

Need help placing a group of holes

Need help placing a group of holes

(OP)
I have a plate that is supposed to get bolt holes in three locations. I created the attached photo by:
1) Created the the head clearance hole and patterned it for four instances.
2) Added one shank clearance hole
3) Added one threaded hole
All holes have 60° spacing on a 30mm bolt circle concentric to axis A76.
4) Created a group with all of these holes.

I now need to take this group and place it on A77 and A78.

I would also like to know if there is a "better" way to created the 6-bolt pattern. I know in solidworks you can create a pattern and skip instances. I believe you can also create a pattern and then change individual instances of the hole (like I could tell it I want 6 holes; 4 @ 12mm, 1 @ 8mm, and 1 @ M6).

Thanks,
   Brandon

RE: Need help placing a group of holes

Brandon,
We use release 2001 - but perhaps this will help.

For the patterned holes:
Redefine / To Table
This will create a pattern table that you can edit.
You can adjust x,y, coordinates, angle, hole dia., skip instance etc.

To pattern the group;
Make the holes that you want to attach the group to - a pattern.
If the group of patterned holes is attached to the lead feature of the pattern....
Then within the model tree / Pattern /Ref. Pattern.

Your group should then follow the pattern containing A77 and A78.

Best of luck.
