Converting (s)cfm to lb/hr for steam?

Converting (s)cfm to lb/hr for steam?

Converting (s)cfm to lb/hr for steam?

(OP)
Hi, I'm wondering about converting cfm of steam at a certain pressure into lb/hr

In this case I'm working with 8-10 cfm of steam at 45 psig, am I able to convert that to lb/hr or do I need more information?

Thanks!

RE: Converting (s)cfm to lb/hr for steam?

You need the density at which the steam is at. So to answer your question you need the temperature taht the steam is at along with your pressure. (or if you know density directly)

cfm= volumetric flow rate

lb/hr= mass flow rate

Sounds like a h/w problem though so I will let you find the formula's for the flow rates in ANY elementary text or google.
