Fix errors on an existing model such as profile plane no longer exists

Fix errors on an existing model such as profile plane no longer exists

Fix errors on an existing model such as profile plane no longer exists

(OP)
Hello all.
I'm working on a part that a co worker created. The problem with it is there are many errors such as "profile plane no longer exists" "Profile solver: constraints are over-defined".
How could i reedit them to remove (fix) these errors?
What i do today is lock the sketch with rigid lock sketch, return to rechose the correct plane (which is the same or on the same level), balance the sketch again  since it gets a different location in space (why??) then remove the rigid lock.
Is there an easier way?

Regards
Raptor

RE: Fix errors on an existing model such as profile plane no longer exists

I think the reason it moves is because in the absence of any other refences it is assumed the position is relative to the origin of the reference plane.
Before you re-define the reference plane try positioning the sketch to a feature or preferably the base reference planes, then it shouldn't move.
Also make sure the new reference plane has the same orientation as the old one. You should be able to see the orientation of the old plane.

Yeah reference plane orientation can be a pain in this kind of thing - you can toggle this though depending where you are in the process.
