Yellow Plastic?
Yellow Plastic?
(OP)
I am looking for a place i can purchase sheets of yellow plastic, preferably acrylic, or something that has decent amount of compression strength. Need it to be .250" thick. NOT standared 1/4 (.236) but an actual .250".
Thanks
Thanks

RE: Yellow Plastic?
Most places are happy to do custom orders (for the right order size), but you're going to get some variance in thickness unless you intend to pay for the exacting processes.
Last time I checked, when someone sold me plastic listed as .250" thick, it was roughly 0.250" thick (within their listed tolerances)... no one I know of considers 0.236" standard.

Pat,
Just letting Dan know where the .236 came from as (as ye know), 6mm tends to be a std size in Metriclands.
I don't think 1/4 inch is a std thickness here in UK. Of course, given the volumes it's easy to make.
Now to answer your question: YES!!!
Cheers

To be really accurate, you might need the next thickness up then machine it to size. Cell casting or calendering processes do not hold tolerances to less than a thou or two.
