Choosing a new manual lathe?

Choosing a new manual lathe?

Choosing a new manual lathe?

(OP)
We need to upgrade to a longer lathe and would like some feedback.

Our current Victor S2260S is only fair quality. We need 120" centers and a 4" spindle hole and 20 to 30" swing and would like a better quality machine.

RE: Choosing a new manual lathe?

Suggest you work with machine salesmen who specialize in resale of manual machines.  Get 1 or 2 who you trust and they can be very effective.  Really good deals are available but you need to be familiar with all the machine performance specs important to you - in addition to the basic ones stated. New machines are not always the answer - there are some cheap bargains available full of inferior specs.
